La Crêperie is what happens when a business acquires a captive audience and mistakes that for competence. Located in the middle of a beach resort, they've discovered the holy grail of hospitality: customers who have nowhere else to go. Unfortunately, instead of using that advantage to build a great café, they've used it as an excuse to stop trying. The food is good. That's the frustrating part. The kitchen is doing its job. Everyone else appears to be conducting a live-action study into organisational dysfunction. There are routinely more staff than customers, which should result in exceptional service. Instead, it creates the opposite. Employees wander around in small social clusters, chatting amongst themselves while customers sit waiting to order, waiting for drinks, waiting for the bill, and occasionally wondering whether they've somehow become invisible. Then there's the Black Card discount programme. Sometimes they honour it. Sometimes they don't. Asking how it works is like asking for the source code behind the universe. The new ownership seems to have imported all the worst aspects - layers of staff, no accountability, inconsistent execution, and an apparent belief that customer experience is someone else's problem. What makes it worse is the complete absence of urgency. Nobody appears remotely concerned. Why would they be? The beach isn't moving, the tourists keep arriving, and tomorrow's customers haven't read today's reviews. This place isn't failing because of the food. It's failing because management has confused location with excellence. A prime beachfront position can get customers through the door, but it can't stop them noticing that the service is chaotic, indifferent, and amateurish. This place needs leadership. Two stars. One for the food. One for the view. The service earns a strong recommendation for anyone studying how complacency destroys businesses.
